Now that award season is in full swing we thought it was time for a tutorial for hair fit for the red carpet! The Gibson Tuck is an elegant and sophisticated updo that has proved to be super popular amongst celebs on the red carpet and it’s super easy to do this celebrity hair style at home!

Our Gibson Tuck tutorial shows you how to take this Victorian hair style and add a modern twist for a super glam updo fit for any occasion; this hair style looks great worn super sleek, waved or with plaits or braids, just add these before you start your updo. Using your BobbyGlam hair extensions will give you gorgeous thickness for your Gibson Tuck, but you may want to wear the wefts a little lower down so that they’re well hidden!

Step One

Once you have fitted your BG extensions, gather your natural hair and your hair extensions together and put them into a ponytail secured with an elastic; we find it’s best to sit your ponytail at ear level as this gives plenty of hair for your tuck!!

Step Two

Gently pull your hair elastic to about half way down your ponytail to create a loose section of hair; use your fingers and create an empty pocket in this loose section of hair.

Step Three

Hold your empty pocket open with one hand and use your other hand to tuck in the ends of your ponytail.  When the ends are tucked away you can fold the rest of the ponytail (including the elastic) into the pocket.

Step Four

Once all your hair is tucked away you can secure your Gibson Tuck with a few hair pins; we recommend using at least one pin through the hair elastic to ensure your updo holds well!!

After these four simple steps you will have an oh-so-gorgeous updo that’s ready and waiting for the red carpet!!
